The wine country of Sonoma and Napa Valley is world renowned for its pastoral beauty, world-class wines and winery tours, fine dining and shopping. Bird Watching
The Point Reyes National Seashore is a haven for hundreds of bird species and is a top-notch destination for birders from all over the world. For more information, visit the National Park Service, and grab your binoculars and notebook for once-in-a-lifetime birding experiences.

Beachcombing
Treasures from the sea lie scattered over the sand at Pt. Reyes National Seashore. Because of tidal influences and ocean currents, patient beachcombers may find everything from abalone shells to beautiful driftwood carved and smoothed by the sea and the sand. You may even find a glass float from a fishing net in distant Asia, carried along on a current right to the beach. A stroll down any stretch of the Pt. Reyes coastline is sure to turn up a beautiful gift from the sea.

Fishing
Rockfish, lingcod, halibut and salmon, among other species, can be caught in the Pt. Reyes National Seashore. (Visitors are asked to respect that fishing is closely regulated within the park and is not permitted at Lagunitas Creek and all its tributaries, including Olema and Bear Valley Creeks, all coastal streams within the park: Limantour Estero or within the Point Reyes Headlands Marine Conservation area.) Giant Redwoods
Among the oldest, tallest and most magnificent living things on Earth, California’s giant redwood trees are awesome, majestic and humbling. Though much of the original forests are now gone, many old-growth areas exist where these trees are protected. Just south of Olema RV Ranch and Campground is Muir Woods National Monument where visitors may stroll among some of the largest of the remaining old-growth redwoods in California. Sailing
A sailing trip off the coast of Point Reyes National Seashore offers breathtaking views of one of the world’s most lovely coastlines along with dolphins, whales, seabirds, seals and other marine animals. Swimming
Swimming in the ocean is not usually recommended as the water is cold and the waves can be unpredictable and treacherous. But you can swim in Bass Lake, located in the park. Click here for more information visit this site.

Picnicking
Olema RV Resort and Campground offers limitless choices for picnicking. Whether you stay at your campsite, hike in any direction until the spot feels right, head for a bluff overlooking the ocean or find an untouched glade of fir and pine trees, there are thousands of acres from which to choose.

Biking

Kayaking
Kayaking around Point Reyes National Seashore, it’s common to come upon harbor seals, leopard sharks, bat rays, dolphins and pelicans. (Visitors are reminded that getting too close to any marine animal is a violation of the law, and are strongly encouraged to exercise caution whenever coming in contact with any wild animal.) Wildflowers
From late winter to autumn, wildflowers in the area of Olema RV Resort and Campground are plentiful. A field of California Golden Poppies is a treat, along with the dozens and dozens of other native blooms which daily decorate the surrounding hills. Whale Watching
Truly, if you haven’t yet seen a whale breech and blow, you have missed one of life’s most awe-inspiring scenes. Several species of whale frequent the waters off Point Reyes National Seashore, including the California Gray Whale, which, each year, makes the longest migration of any animal—around ten thousand miles—from Mexico to Alaska.
