Olema RV Resort & Campground offers comfortable, easy-access camping for all, whether traveling in a motorhome or pitching a tent. Each of the 187 camping sites on the property is well-spaced, giving visitors privacy from close neighbors. Every spot is equipped with a fire pit and picnic table. The campground offers a new playground for the kids, and a new washer/dryer facility. Also, visitors to Olema RV Resort and Campground will be pleased to find sparkling clean, newly-remodeled bathrooms and showers.
The campground itself sits on 30 wooded acres, but head in any direction to find over 65 thousand acres of land to explore on bikes, horseback or on foot. Hiking trails abound and wildlife is easily spotted along the paths. Dogs on leashes are welcome (see policies ). Roughly half of the campground acreage is wooded, and half consists of beautiful, open meadows, perfect for weddings or picnics. The campground is within walking distance to a store where daily essentials can be found, and just two miles to a hardware store carrying sports equipment. Hike to the beach and enjoy one of California’s treasures, Pt. Reyes National Seashore, established in 1966 as part of the National Park System.
Bird watchers will find themselves in paradise along this stretch of coast, as nearly half the bird species in America—some 490—have been observed here. Look for Tule elk, black-tailed deer, coyotes, mountain lions, bobcats, weasels, badgers and foxes. Along the seashore you may encounter harbor and stellar seals, elephant seals and California sea lions. Close offshore keep your eyes peeled for dolphins and all manner of whales including fin, humpback, blue (the largest animal in the world) and California gray whales. Enjoy horseback riding and kayaking at nearby Tomales Bay or simply go beachcombing for shells, driftwood and other treasures from the sea. Explore the intertidal zone where a multitude of creatures from starfish to octopi abound. Lovers of flora will delight in forests of Bishop Pine, bay laurel, madrone, coast live oak, Manzanita, Douglas fir, spruce and so many others. Or stroll along one of the last remaining bastions of California’s native grasslands which cover the gently rolling hills like a soft quilt, changing colors with the seasons.
After exploring this pristine and historic preserve, all of which can be found within minutes of Olema RV Resort and Campground, come back to your campsite to relax at your own campfire. If you do need to check your email, the entire camp is wired for WiFi Internet access. Olema also provides on-site security on weekends, so you can relax knowing your family is safe amidst the natural splendor.
